Two Shepherds “Be Merry With Mourvedre” – Dec 8/9 Holiday Party and 4 Year Vertical Tasting (3 Times)
Winter isn’t coming – its here! Join us in celebrating with Mourvedre and two new releases perfect for the winter fireside. THREE dates and time options: (1) Friday evening Dec 8th 5-8 pm, (2) Saturday Dec 9th 12-5 pm, (3) Saturday Dec 16 12-5 pm as part of Artisan Alley 3rd Annual Sip n Shop. For the first time ever we will pour 4 vintages (2 brand new, 2 library wines) of Mourvedre, all from different AVAs – a fun way to compare the same variety, made in a similar fashion, but showing differently based on region and vintage. All wines, including library, will be available to taste and purchase, some at the event only. We will also bring out a vintage (or two) of our library, ultra small lot Syrah|Mourvedre 50/50 blend. And yes, once again a very few magnums will be brought out for sale, first come, first served. Only 6-18 bottles of each were hand bottled. We will also be collecting donations for the Redwood Empire Food Bank, and donating fees to the RCU Fire Relief Fund. Taste Two Shepherds’ full spectrum of the Mourvedre grape including:
- 2012 Mourvedre, Russian River: perhaps our most popular ever, our first mourvedre from Russian River Valley, light and elegant. Library wine available to taste and purchase at event only.
- 2013 Mourvedre, Russian River: nornally a club only wine, this bright Burgundian-ish mourvedre is still a baby with many years to go in the bottle
- 2014 Mourvedre, El Dorado: a brief time return (since 2011) to El Dorado, this wine was just released this month at RAW NY/LA and was very popular. We call it our winter comfort wine, soft and easy drinking – pair with winter stew, or Netflix.
- 2015 Mourvedre, Dry Creek Valley: Only one barrel (25 cases) of this hilly Dry Creek vintage was bottled as a single variety. Bursting with red berries, quaffable, and fun.
